Ramadan will soon be upon us, this year taking place in the height of summer. Find out more about this annual event in the Muslim calendar. Find out how you can be informed to pray effectively for Muslims across the globe...
First off, we'd like to start off by making a recommendation. By far, the best thing you can do, if you are serious about praying for Muslims during Ramadan, is to get a copy of YWAM's 30-days of Prayer booklet. Find out where you can purchase a hard copy by visiting the 30-days website. Copies are available in many countries and are not very expensive.
There are also other resources available to download, including a PDF guide to praying for the Islamic world in Turmoil and a sample of the 30-days prayer guide. This site is well worth visiting, so don't miss out - take a look now!
Another idea is to check out our own Ramadan prayer feed, which we'll begin on 1 August. In our previous life, as Arab World Ministries, we did this for a couple of years running. We'll also be feeding this into Twitter, so that's a good way to keep up with minimal effort involved.
Also check out our Ramadan key facts article. This is helpful if you know very little about Ramadan. Just some basic facts about what the fast involves. Nothing too deep.
If you really can't keep up with a prayer guide or feed, perhaps you could just simply jot down the following prayer and repeat it as often as you can:
Lord, please reveal yourself to many Muslims during Ramadan. Pray that the physical emptiness of fasting will result in a spiritual hunger for truth. Move hearts and give people courage to ask questions and seek you out. In Jesus' name. Amen.
