Safiya's Story

Articles

The following story comes firsthand from a Pioneer serving among Syrian refugees in the Middle East…   It is Wednesday morning and my van is loaded up with food packages and bundles of diapers. My dear ministry partner – a new believer from the majority background – sits beside me, calling out a long list of newly arrived Syrian refugee families as she directs me through the maze of narrow streets in our ‘little town’ of half a million people. As we park in front of a rundown apartment building, we pray and ask the Lord to strengthen us and lead us to make him known among this family, to see his healing break forth in their lives. We hop out of the car and lug the package up several flights of stairs. Garbage blows down the steps and curious little faces peek out at us from the numerous doors we pass. Read More

Who We Are

Articles

At Arab World Media, our aim is not only to bring seekers into a true and living faith in Jesus, but also to help them connect and integrate into the local body of Christ.   As we produce and publish gospel-centred audio-visual material that can be viewed, shared or downloaded from our websites and social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube), we partner closely with workers who personally connect with enquirers (online, via email and phone), and yet others in our extended geographical network who can meet with seekers face-to-face.   Read More

Christmas Through Mary's Eyes

Articles

Am I dreaming or is this real? I received a message saying that I had found grace in the Lord’s eyes. He chose me to bear the child conceived by the Holy Spirit. Why me, Lord God? Why didn’t you choose an older lady? I’m still too young and don’t have much experience. Why didn’t you choose a wealthier lady? I come from a modest family. And what do I do with the baby? What about my future, my fiancé, my family? I don’t expect any of them to understand my situation. Will I be able to face all this? I am so afraid…   Read More

The Ten Percent

Articles

Often the western world forgets that there are Christians in the Arab world. Often the western church forgets too. Certainly, there are not many believers in comparison to the number of Muslims there today. Christians now represent about ten percent of the population of North Africa and the Middle East, but historically there have been Christians in the whole region since early church times. Indeed, they were the majority before the Arab invasions took place.   Read More

What is Ramadan?

Articles

Ramadan is a very special month for Muslims. It is when they believe the 'prophet' Muhammad received the first verses of the Qur'an. Fasting is done to make room for spiritual reflection and divert attention from worldly desires. Muslims are encouraged to spend more time reading the Qur’an and praying. Read More

Special Report: Kabyle Ministry in Algeria

Articles

Tamusni.org is a ministry website similar to Maarifa but in the Kabyle language, which is spoken by 5 to 7 million worldwide. Most Kabyles can be found in Algeria, where there has been a huge growth in Christianity over the past twenty years or so. Launched five years ago, Tamusni seeks to present the gospel and engage Kabyle people in conversation about spiritual things. In 2011, we received just over 142,000 visits to the site and 531 communications from individuals; 29 were passed on for face-to-face follow-up with an in-country believer. Read More
