Tamusni.org is a ministry website similar to Maarifa but in the Kabyle language, which is spoken by 5 to 7 million worldwide. Most Kabyles can be found in Algeria, where there has been a huge growth in Christianity over the past twenty years or so. Launched five years ago, Tamusni seeks to present the gospel and engage Kabyle people in conversation about spiritual things. In 2011, we received just over 142,000 visits to the site and 531 communications from individuals; 29 were passed on for face-to-face follow-up with an in-country believer.
Between January and March 2012 we received almost 40,000 visits to Tamusni and hope to see increasing interest as the year progresses. We have been developing the ministry, adding new content to the site. We’ve been tackling difficult questions like ‘Did Christ affirm his deity?’ and ‘Why are there four gospels?’ We have also introduced a new section of Bible text in Kabyle and French alongside links to audio and video teaching on each passage. This allows for a comprehensive study of the Bible. The New Testament is also available for download and this has been done 3,561 times in the first quarter of the year.
Hello everyone, hope you’re doing well. I am a new believer in Jesus Christ and wanted to thank you for your wonderful ‘Tamusni’ website. (Algeria, male)
Please pray for the Tamusni web ministry, thanking God that He is already doing such amazing things, while asking for more fruit among the Kabyle people of Algeria. Pray for the Church in Algeria to go from strength to strength as its roots deepen. Pray that its resilience and perseverance might be a source of encouragement for other believers and fledgling groups in the Arab world.
