Keep praying for the situation in Syria. Pray for ordinary people who have been affected by the war there, losing loved ones, homes, livelihoods, etc. Lift up those who are grieving or suffering because of violence. Pray that both the army and the rebels would respect human life and that soldiers on either side would have courage to resist harming civilians. Pray for Syria to be transformed into a peaceful country where life and freedom are treasured and protected.

Please pray for the countries of Egypt and Tunisia.

In Egypt, the military has dissolved parliament - a move that has been declared by some a military coup. Run-off elections are also due to take place for the presidential elections and many are unhappy that ex-prime minister Ahmed Shafiq has been allowed to stand.

In Tunisia, violent protests have been taking place and a curfew has been imposed. Demonstrations have been banned today in an effort to bring things under control.

Please lift up both of these countries in prayer. Pray that people's views and demands would be heard by those in authority and that progress towards fair systems of governance would not be lost. Pray also that people would strive to make their views known peacefully.
